Lodge at Little Seneca Creek is a rustic wedding venue located at 14500-A Clopper Road in Boyds, Maryland, inside Camp Seneca Park.

Managed by Montgomery Parks, the Lodge sits on 26 acres of wooded parkland and features a 2,300 sq. ft. log cabin with cathedral ceilings, a towering stone fireplace, and panoramic views of open fields and forest.

The venue is available year-round and hosts one event per rental period.


Guest Capacity

Capacity depends on layout:

  • 120 guests for dinner-only events

  • 100 guests for dinner + dancing inside the Lodge

  • 120 guests maximum when using the tent for dancing

The 120-person maximum does not increase with tent usage.

Children must be included in the guest count.

Two outdoor ceremony site options are available.


Rental Structure

The standard wedding package is an 8-hour rental between 8 AM and midnight.

This includes:

  • First 2 hours: deliveries and setup

  • 5 hours: event time

  • Final hour: breakdown and cleanup

Events must end by 11 PM, with rental ending no later than midnight.

Extra hours may be purchased (subject to availability).

Catering Policy

Lodge at Little Seneca Creek does not provide in-house catering.

Requirements:

  • Licensed, insured, full-service caterer required for:

    • Weddings

    • Events with alcohol

    • Events with 60+ guests

Homemade food is not permitted.

For events booked within 3 months of the event date, caterers must be selected from the approved list.

Full-service caterers must:

  • Provide staff

  • Provide bartenders (if alcohol is served)

  • Handle cleanup

  • Remain on-site during rental


Alcohol Policy

  • Bartender must be provided by the full-service caterer

  • Couples may purchase their own alcohol (if caterer permits)

  • No self-service

  • No shots

  • No BYOB bottles on tables

  • No alcohol consumption in parking lot or lower field

Alcohol may only be served by the licensed bartender.

  • Open flames on deck

Decor must be installed and removed during rental time.

Pricing Structure

Pricing varies based on:

  • Day of week

  • Time of year

  • County residency (Montgomery/Prince George’s vs out-of-county)

Payment schedule:

  • $750 refundable security deposit

  • $750 initial payment

  • 50% due 3 months after booking

  • Final 50% due 3 months before the event

Cancellation policies apply based on the timeline.
