Larger venues and a higher guest count typically go hand in hand and in those situations you will either want a greater quantity of lights or to be selective in what you are highlighting.
In my opinion you can create a “wow” moment either way. You can wash the entire venue in lighting as pictured in the images above or, focus on accentuating key areas of the wedding reception space. Those key areas would be:
⦁ Head table or sweetheart table: This area will be captured by professional and amateur photographers alike.
⦁ Key focal points – Most of the guest attention is going to be in the direction of the head table. Accenting the architectural elements in that area would be my second priority.
⦁ Highlighting the most interesting room elements.
